Margery Myers

Principal and Executive Coach

 

Margery Myers is an executive coach and consultant to senior executives in high-visibility roles. She has helped many leaders drive strong business results by communicating powerfully and confidently to their important audiences, from Boards and Executive Committees to global teams of employees, clients and the media.  Margery’s more than 20 years of experience leading communications teams at top U.S. companies and reporting to CEOs allows her to understand first-hand the challenges senior executives face.  Her business acumen enables her to give her clients fresh insights and honest feedback, while her warm and supportive style creates a positive environment that fosters confidence and trust.  

Margery also works with organizations on strategic communication planning. She has developed simple yet highly effective methods to help her clients assess their communications infrastructure and messaging, and identify gaps and opportunities to improve their programs. 

Prior to joining Bates Communications, Margery was the Senior Vice President, Communications for Dunkin’ Brands, the parent company to Dunkin’ Donuts and Baskin-Robbins.  As such, she was responsible for public relations, executive and employee communications, franchisee communications and customer service. At Dunkin’ Brands, Margery built a comprehensive, cross-functional communication program to align and engage a global audience of franchisees, employees and the media.  She directed communications efforts for initiatives such as the divestiture of the Togo’s brand, expansion into new countries, and new product launches, and she led the company response to crises, hot button issues and regulatory challenges.

Before Dunkin’ Brands, Margery built and led the communications function at Talbots, the women’s specialty retailer.  As Vice President of Corporate Communications and PR, Margery guided communication for the acquisition and integration of The J. Jill Group, Inc., the launch of five brand concepts, entry into the U.K market and the launch of the company’s e-commerce channel, serving as spokesperson for all business initiatives. She was also executive speechwriter for the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.

Margery is a highly regarded speaker and writer. She has delivered speeches and published articles on topics such as “Communicating with Impact,” “Communicating in the Age of Change,” “C-Suite Communication,” and “Communicating Effectively When You’re Here and Your Team is There.”

Margery lives in Hingham, Massachusetts, with her husband and two children.
